The Beat Blocks project is comprised of three blocks of wood that each wirelessly manipulate certain aspects of drum loops that are being played out of a laptop computer. The blocks are sending information wirelessly to the laptop by way of XBee Radios. Two of the blocks have accelorometers in them, and the third block has 6 photocells. These various sensors receive input from your interaction with the blocks and provide realtime feedback via the alteration of the music on the computer using a custom built Max/MSP patch.
